Are Futures in your Future?

Some industry experts believe futures are the way of the future for traders.  While the government may clamp down on stock and options trading (to protect yourself from you), it is unlikely that they will significantly change the futures market used by the large institutions for hedging.  Futures have the advantage of increased leverage (SPAN margin), favorable 1256 Contract tax treatment, no day trading limits, mark-to-market reporting, and an almost 24 hour open market.  You can open an account for a very small amount of money but can lose more than your account value so risk management is key.  That said, we find many traders' trading journey going from stock to options to eventually add futures and options futures due to all the benefits.

If you're unfamiliar with 1256 contracts, SPAN margin, or how the futures market works, this is the meeting not to miss.  Start down the path learning about this exciting market used by day traders, swing traders, trading firms, and hedge funds alike for generating huge returns.  Learn about evaluating the different platforms available and hear from experienced traders on what they learned and the mistakes they made.

We have three speakers for this meeting.  Jonathan Wong will provide an overview of the futures market.   Kurt Schwartz will be sharing his past futures trading experiences.  Gavin Hollinger will be reviewing the different futures trading platforms and the pros and cons he's found with each one.
