Using Volatility in Options Trading

Understanding volatility is key in trading options successfully.  Do you understand how options move on price and volatility action?  Andrew will talk about how to spot when an investors wants to focus on one input over the other is the main focus of the talk with concrete examples, theory and trade generation.  Andrew will also touch on how trades win and fail due to not understanding the impact of option volatility on pricing.

Andrew Giovinazzi, COO, Option Pit, LLC

Andrew Giovinazzi was a member of both the Pacific Exchange and the Chicago Board Options Exchange where he made markets in both equity and index option classes from 1991 to 2006. During that period he never had a down year. In 1992, Andrew started and ran the Designated Primary Market Maker post for Group One, ltd in Chicago. He was instrumental in creating and managing a trader training program that allowed Group One, ltd. to significantly grow the company. He left Group One, ltd. to co-found Henry Capital Management in 2001. He became Chief Options Strategist of Option Pit Mentoring in the Fall of 2011 and COO in 2013 and risk manager for Karman Line Capital LLC in 2016. Andrew co-hosts The Option Block and Volatility Views on the Options Insider Radio Network every week. Andrew has a Bachelor's degree from the University of California, Santa Cruz in Economics.
